Viewing Network Drives/Local files when adding Attachments via. Citrix

Created by Geoff Cooke, Modified on Fri, 18 Oct at 2:52 PM by Geoff Cooke

You may find that when you are trying to add attachments into Compucare 8, that you are unable to view your own documents and files - for example emails or diagnostic results from another system.

This is because of how Citrix handles network drives and permissions.

To alleviate this issue, follow these instructions*:
* Please note, this only works through the Citrix Workspace app, and not the Citrix web browser.

1. Log into the Citrix Workspace app, and launch Compucare 8 Live or Test:

2. With Compucare open and loaded, click on the up-arrow in your system tray located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and look for the Citrix icon:

3. Right-click on this icon, and click 'Connection Center':

4. In the box that opens, single left-click and highlight the second folder (Named DC-CTX-???-?? usually) in the drop down, like so:

5. Once highlighted, click on the 'Preferences' button on the right side of the screen:

6. In the window that opens, click on 'File Access' from the options at the top.

7. Click 'Read and write' if this isn't already chosen. If it is already chosen, click on 'Read Only', then re-click 'Read and write'. Then click 'Apply' and 'OK' at the bottom of the window:

8. Close out of Compucare and Citrix, and then re-open Citrix and Compucare. Next time you login to both, your network drives should be available.

The Quick Access option should be pinned moving forward. If it ever disappears, please repeat the steps in the 'Finding your documents in Compucare' section of this article.
