Overview

This article provides information on the minimum system specification that is capable of running Compucare 8. Using this specification does not guarantee optimal performance. System performance can be affected by various factors unrelated to Compucare.

The infrastructure should be reviewed based on individual requirements e.g. interfaces, migrated data, number of users, anticipated growth and use of apps internal and external, and local risk assessment of data access. The environment should also be replicated for Live, QA and Training. Please contact Streets Heaver if you need further assistance.

Example Server Specifications

It is envisaged that most sites will install the system on virtualised servers with shared Storage Area Network (SAN) devices as the shared storage. 1GB network. UPS coverage.

Other virtualisation methods can be used but may impact the overall performance of the server. Bare metal server configurations are also supported.

These examples are based on Streets Heavers private cloud setup, and does not explicitly specify the exact CPUs, cache, IOP's - and this is intended as a guide only. Streets Heaver System Versions

Below are the currently supported versions of the associated Streets Heaver systems.

Server Operating System

Minimum: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition 64bit

Recommended: Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard Edition 64bit (or above)

SQL Server Database Version

Minimum: Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Standard Edition 64bit (with Web Server, specified separately)

Recommended: Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard Edition 64bit (or above)

If using a SQL version past 2014, compatibility mode needs to be at least 2014.

Please contact Streets Heaver about third parties querying Compucare 8 databases as a heavy load should be run on a replicated server which requires 2019 Enterprise Edition.

Backups: It is mandatory that you have daily full backup stratergy and transactional backups with a frequency of a maximum of 1hr. It  is the client responsibility to ensure this is in place.

Storage Configuration for the Database Files

Main data files - These should be stored on the fastest available disks, ideally with a RAID 1+0 configuration (these data files require a lot of IOPS).

Attachment/audit log storage - These data files are frequently written to but not read as much, so a lower level of storage/RAID can be used efficiently here.

Client PCs

• Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (SP1) or above (Windows 11 recommended) - x64
• Intel Core i5
• 8GB RAM
• 300GB free space
• Screen resolution 1920 x 1080 or above
• Recommended 23” widescreen monitor or above

Pre-requisites for MHS

• Microsoft Message Queues (MSMQ)
• The naming convention of the MHS server must be in the following format: CAB-{BT Assigned NACS Code}, i.e.CAB-AA1

Printers

The system supports Windows printing. Laser printers are preferred.

Network

We recommend at least a 100Mbps network.

Web Application Browsers

Compucare Web Apps are supported on the following minimum browser versions.

Recommended Server Layout

The diagram below shows how different servers connect to Compucare. It is recommended that multiple Internal Application Servers are used for systems that process large amounts of data.
